Gemilang Coachwork Sdn Bhd (GML) and Al Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company (FAMCO) have officially signed a major contract on 3rd Oct 24 for the delivery of 76 Volvo double-decker buses to Dubai.
The signing ceremony was held at GML's headquarters in Johor Bahru last Thursday, graced by Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, Yang Berhormat Tuan Anthony Loke Siew Fook, we celebrated this significant milestone in GML’s collaboration with FAMCO together. These state-of-the-art buses will feature Volvo chassis and GML’s Constellium durable aluminium superstructure, showcasing decades of engineering excellence.
Minister Anthony Loke further praised GML’s achievement as a testament to Malaysia’s growing automotive prowess. “This collaboration shows Malaysia’s ability to compete on the world stage, delivering quality and innovation,” the Minister said.
FAMCO’s Managing Director, Mr. Ramez Hamdan, emphasized the project's impact on public transport infrastructure in Dubai, setting new standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
